KPA had installed and started the operation of a ¡®Local Drug Safety Center (LDSC) ¡®. In addition to 20 local centers that have been in operation, the KPA-operated center will function as a control tower overseeing the adverse drug reaction reports, providing public information for safe drug use. Until now, the concern of LDSC was mainly on adverse drug reports for prescription medications only. Now, each local pharmacy has a direct on-line access to adverse reaction report to the center, and KPA hopes the center will expand its role in the safe use of OTC drug, health food, as well as traditional medicine.
